Q What information should the first arriving unit give as a report and what is that report known as?
What is a personnel accountability report (PAR), when and why should a PAR be completed?
There must always be a radio report which must be initially given by the first arriving unit as a report. However, it must be noted that the report is brief and not exaggerated too much. This is because of the radio report initially given by the first arriving unit is not the finalized one but is like a preliminary or an initial glimpse towards the actual event of emergency. Therefore, the narration of the emergency has to be a short one. The situational assessment which must be conveyed at the time of initial radio reporting must be preliminary in nature.
